It’s so exciting! The Lions International Foundation has generously donated $100,000 to completing Lions Park inclusive playground! This donation allows us to move forward on playground work with plans to open the park in late summer 2026.
The park adds a new dimension to downtown Dewey, providing a fun family playground and an enjoyable, relaxing space for community events. It will feature a multi-use area, accessible from Don Tyler, suitable for gatherings, events, and food trucks, along with public accessible restrooms. Landscaping, all-weather walkways, and shaded shelters will round out the park's amenities.
The Friends have successfully raised the funds to purchase colorful, inclusive playground equipment, offering challenging and healthy play for people of all abilities. The equipment is ordered and will be delivered the first week of August. Preparation for the playground equipment installation is nearing completion. The City will eventually be adding a small splash pad. Imagine the sounds of families enjoying the many activities at the park – it's going to be FUN!
While we have raised $200,000 for the equipment and installation, an additional $75,000 is still needed for durable protective turf to be installed beneath the play equipment. The turf is important because it provides protection from falls and allows access for people using wheelchairs, walkers and canes.
The Lyon Foundation has generously committed a matching grant of $30,000, which will be received once the remaining $45,000 has been raised. We are now looking to our community to help us gather this final $45,000.

We are the Friends of Dewey Parks, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are a like-minded group of individuals who were born, raised, or currently reside here. Together we recognized a need for renovation of the local parks in our town and are working to achieve that goal.
The City of Dewey sits in the northeast corner of Oklahoma. We are 5 miles north of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and approximately 50 miles north of Tulsa, Oklahoma. For a small town of 3500, we can boast about our businesses and family activities. [more]

Our first renovation, Lions Park, will feature equipment that challenges both mental and physical skills.
