Our goal is to create an intergenerational inclusive play space in Lions Park. Intergenerational inclusive playgrounds are open and safe spaces carefully designed to promote play and learning for persons of all ages. Lions Park, accessible to everyone in our community, is located adjacent to the city library in downtown Dewey, Oklahoma. It was last updated in the 1960s.

Renovation of Lions Park will offer inclusive fun and entertainment. The playground equipment will challenge both mental and physical skills and encompass roughly half of the overall park space. Equipment and play space surfaces are designed to protect children from falls and injuries and will meet industry standards. The city will install a small splash pad to offer summer fun and another element for play.

The park’s tables and seating areas will provide plenty of space for relaxation, reading and watching your little ones. Hard surfaced walkways will allow easy access to all parts of the park. New handicap accessible bathrooms have been constructed and area lighting is being installed.

The grounds will be professionally landscaped to complement the playground and open space. Legacy Bricks purchased by our community and friends will be incorporated into a relaxing garden space. Trees will be planted to shade the play areas.

Lions Park’s inclusive playground will enrich our local and regional communities.
